This original painting is titled ‘Discover new in the old.’ You may already be familiar with my love for Ginkgo leaves. I love the colors, veins, and shapes of the leaves. With this piece, I set out to reimagine the Ginkgo leaf in a different light.
As you can see throughout the entire collection, I’ve employed a combination of semi-realistic painting and abstract work. By using a different medium (canvas instead of paper) and different painting techniques, a new beautiful image emerges.
This painting is part of the ‘Wonder’ collection, one of my most cherished collections, and perhaps also the most vulnerable. It was created during my maternity leave with my youngest son, a period of slowing down, quieting, exploring, and countless moments of wonder.
