In this original painting, I wasn’t entirely satisfied with it during the process, so I attempted to bring some of the leaves back into focus from the background. Embracing curiosity and experimentation can lead to beautiful moments and results.
Let’s all be curious. Let us be okay with not knowing, whether it’s for knowledge, understanding, meaning-making, pleasure, the love of exploration, or wonder, even if there isn’t a single right answer or any answer at all.
This painting is part of the ‘Wonder’ collection, one of my most cherished collections, and perhaps also the most vulnerable. It was created during my maternity leave with my youngest son, a period of slowing down, quieting, exploring, and countless moments of wonder.
